THE GREAT OPENING celebrates the inauguration of Italian artist Paolo W. Tamburella's new studio in Rome, the launch of SARTORIO TV, a web tv channel devoted to film, video and animation from Asia, Africa and South America and the presentation of QUANDARY by Kabir Ahmed Masum Chisty, a book published by Sartorio featuring an introduction by Mike Watson.
Paolo W. Tamburella will be showing a new work for the occasion, the Roll of Malakkaran, while Kabir Ahmed Masum Chisty brings the installation Quandary - first exhibited at the last Venice Biennale - to Rome.

SARTORIO organizes and promotes a wide range of activities such as art residencies, research and study programs, exhibitions, book publishing, video productions, animation and design. Located in Rome in the studio of the late Italian sculptor Giuseppe Sartorio (1854 – 1922), SARTORIO serves as an International hub which seeks to activate new creative collaborations promoting an intercultural exchange of ideas.
Kabir Ahmed Masum Chisty is an artist and animator based in Dhaka. As part of Britto Arts Trust, Chisty is one of the most active forces on the Bangladeshi Contemporary Art scene. Chisty was one of the artists who represented Bangladesh at the last Venice Biennale.
Paolo W. Tamburella is an Italian artist working internationally on themes linked to tradition and globalization. Curator with Mary Angela Schroth of the first Bangladesh Pavilion at Venice Biennale. Tamburella has realized various projects in Asia, Africa and the United Sates.
